About
Hi there! My name is Brian Fegter (It's a weird name I know). I started this site as an alternative to my engagement on social media. It's also a place for me to be mindful about the life I've been given, and to share whatever insights, curiosities, or questions I have along the way with you.
What To Expect
I'm a human writer. You won't get any artificial intelligence slop here. I don't outline with AI, or get my ideas from AI. I am an aspiring reader, and thinker. I believe in AI - Actual Intelligence. The ideas you read about here are a collaboration of the material I read, the influences in my life, and my own processing of those ideas. The writing and editing of all the essays are completely the result of my fingers pushing buttons.
Some Details About Me
I'm happily married to an amazing wife, and father to three equally amazing sons. I volunteer as a senior pastor for my congregation Jax Life Church. I work as a technologist for ChurchTrac. I also own a coffee company Testament Coffee Roasters. I'm a recovering hobbyholic, a retired photographer, and an apprentice tsundoku-er.
Frequency vs. Consistency
I'm a recent deconvert from the religion of productivity. I've removed the monastic chant, "I'm busy" from my life. Busy is all about frequency. I'd rather have consistency. Consistency is all about reliability. I'm not busy, I don't want to be. I want to produce reliable results in a manner that brings value to everyone in all of my contexts. I've found the efficiency and concurrency parts work themselves out pretty well with this mindset. Regarding this outlet, I'm refusing the set artificial deadlines to 'crank out' content. You can expect consistent, not necessarily frequent essays from me here.
Thank you for being here! I'd be honored if you would subscribe to the newsletter and share this site with others.
